toyota HOT HOT HOT

fuenta georgina, originally uploaded by sawyers_kevin.

so here i am sitting in a pool of water warmed by a VOLCANO.
so cool but OH so HOT. this is Fuenta Georgina about an hour from the city of Xela. a group of about 9 students and the maestra went up for an hour or two on monday. the trip up was just as interesting with views of the volcano Santa Maria in the not so far distance. fields of everything you can imagine growing in well manicured fields being watered with this nutrient rich water.

stunning. imagine three or four different fiestas going on in the background with traditional music, american, british and latino pop all mixed up and BLASTING at the same time. it was awesome to say the least. all part of the beginning of the Navidad celebrations.

More on the nites

the mennonites apparently are in larger numbers in Belize.  they came there to escape pursecution in Europe in the late 19th century.  drive on young mennonite women in your puffy cruzer.  god is luv in a puffy black cloud.

you’re so fresh

so the food.  what can i say but OMG. everything is so fresh and well prepared.  the best so far are the soups.  they’re all made with rich broths and lots of fresh herbs and vegetables.  so good.  seriously yellow eggs (this means they’re practically plucked from the chicken) and always delicious.  then there’s the price.  so inexpensive.  i had a great lunch the other day of a brothy thick soup with herbs and stuff….lots of celantro and two nice sized chicken medallions fried nicely on one side and a mound of yellow rice AND deliciosly fried fingerling potatoes.  to drink i had hot tea and a glass of freshly squeezed pineapple juice.  bread is served with each meal as well.  this meal cost me around Q15 which is roughly $2.00 US. is that stupid or what?  the thing is if they have just a little money they make the most of it and things are done as well as possible when it matters most.
