Don’t forget Mandi, the skinniest dog in the world. She’s number one at my host families casa.
well, it’s not my family but it is the family that is hosting me in xela, guatemala. they’re the best. sweet as can be and OMG the mother is a GREAT cook. i thought i would loose weight being here but NOT ON HER WATCH. every time i come to the table there is a huge plate of some delicious thing she’s made completely from scratch. she don’t play.
so here i am sitting in a pool of water warmed by a VOLCANO.
so cool but OH so HOT. this is Fuenta Georgina about an hour from the city of Xela. a group of about 9 students and the maestra went up for an hour or two on monday. the trip up was just as interesting with views of the volcano Santa Maria in the not so far distance. fields of everything you can imagine growing in well manicured fields being watered with this nutrient rich water.

view from my bedroom door and window.
stunning. imagine three or four different fiestas going on in the background with traditional music, american, british and latino pop all mixed up and BLASTING at the same time. it was awesome to say the least. all part of the beginning of the Navidad celebrations.
Jerri on a roof top outside my new digs with the new host family in Xela. Check out where Jerri goes while in Central and South America.
just stepped out the front door of the host family and had to get a shot of the new day. can you say color and texture?
mercado was today. in xela it happens every first sunday of the month. the central park area was blocked to traffic and it was actually pleasent without the exhaust. this this is my favorite pic of the day but make sure to check out the rest on the PHOTO link on the left.

the walls moved enough that i got up from my seat in the lab and ran to archway. everyone else followed.
the lab tech acted like nothing was happening. she’s local…….maybe loco
